The Toshiba is not connected to the internet, the TV (Samsung) is connected to a Talk-Talk TV box through broadband. I am just baffled as to whether it is an electronics fault which has suddenly appeared or is it something to do with dirty or misaligned heads? If it were the latter surely it would not play when connected on AV2 either. Would it make any difference if I used an HDMI cable connection between the VCR and the TV, does this use different circuitry to the scart connection? I need to find out why I get "NO SIGNAL" on screen. I am therefore in the situation of not being able to make recordings across from VHS to DVD. Likewise with AV2 connected I get no reaction at all when trying to record VHS to DVD. If I change over the scart lead connection to AV2, then I get sound and picture.īut when it comes to making a recording of the VHS to DVD with AV1 connected then all I get is a "NO SIGNAL" screen on the TV. But I do not get any sound or picture when playing the VHS. I am only using a single scart cable from AV1 to the television. I am at a bit of a loss to where to go next to prove that it is a fault somewhere else, so please any thoughts would be gratefully received. Whereas when I do the tracking adjustment when connected to the AV2 socket it does go out of tracking and I can bring it back, so I know that bit operates. I have tried to adjust the tracking of the VHS tape using the remote control as stated in the manual, but this makes no difference. Could it be a faulty scart lead? (I have tried 2 with the same result though). I am wondering if there is a fault in the pcb circuitry for the AV1 outlet and if so, how can I check/test it out. So with the scart in the AV1, the next stage is to go to the set up screen-but this it will not do. When connected to the AV1 I can only get a "No Signal" message on the screen. I have tried a number of different tapes both pre-recorded and home recorded but I found that I can only get the VHS to play with the scart plug in the AV2 outlet, when in fact it should be in the AV1 outlet. I am now trying to make a DVD recording from VHS tape, which I have done many times. It has been used fairly regularly for playing Cd's, DVD's, and VHS tapes. Relatively trouble free apart from cleaning the heads a couple of times using isoprop alcohol. I have the model Toshiba Combi stated above which I have had since 2010. Hi, I am new to this forum so please bare with me.
